The sleeve is of the "Star-Collection" series, and below the catalogue number on the label there is a second number MIDI 20018. But I can discover no hint to the country where the record was pressed.
Im afraid there is no hint to what country ever in Southern Africa. The runout zones on both sides only show a hint to the record company and the catalogue number: ATL 1050 A and ATL 1050 B. That's all.
Sounds almost certain then, but something else to check is the runouts, just to make sure that "MADE IN RHODESIA" (or another Southern Africa country) isn't stamped there.
PhilMH, I think you've hit the bullseye. On the labels, the publishers are mentioned, and for A3 (You've Really Got A Hold On Me) this is Laetrec. The other ones are: A1 Lowery Music; A2 and A6 Intersong; A4 MCPS obo Bourne Music; A5 Leeds Music; B1, B3 and B5 Warner Bros. Music (SA); B2 and B6 Plymouth; B4 Ivan Mogul.
SA in brackets must stand for South Africa.
WEA Records (Pty.) Ltd. suggests South Africa - the brackets around Pty. being the giveaway (unlike the Australian form Pty. without any brackets), and I think somewhere I've got an LP with the "Interpak" name (bottom right-hand corner of back cover) on it; I just have to remember what LP it is!
base of rear of lp sleeve bears the magic incantation, "pty. ltd.", symptomatic of records manufactured in and/or for, and intended to be distributed in, a couple of the traditional main territories, territory groupings or markets into which the vinyl (and before it, the shellac) world was once divided.
