| JamesTrash 14th Nov 2019 | Entered this one as Various Artists but it's actually a bit of hybrid LP as The Warm get one side to themselves. The Beat Brothers on side two are actually The Warm (or at least 2 of them), and Floozie is The Warm again with their publicist Wendy Freeman on vocals. The Fred Banana Combo are German, Alan Libert's Parabola are from New York and The Exile are from Glasgow. The Warm were 2 Portuguese brothers and a West Indian but based at the time in London. They pre-dated the punk/DIY thing in 1976 with a couple of singles financed by Rui Castro's girlfriend's father's credit card. Not that he knew about it! The Warm tracks here were recorded between 1974 and 1978. The version of the Ramones 'Pinhead' may just be better than the original. | |
