Come now, you don't think the way this section . . .
"You wanted my heart, but I just liked your tattoo, s-- / --oured it down, so I poured it down"
. . . is presented, is as badly edited or structured the way that CCR section was? (I thought the "Forward troubles Illinois" line was a bad edit to match the beat, so one wonders what John C. Fogerty intended to write after "Forward troubles . . . "; we know the "Illinois" was the last word in the first line of the first verse, "Just got home from Illinois . . . ")
As for this number, something tells me that "poured it down" in that section in question was to cover for something that, ahem, wouldn't pass muster with radio stations?
For anyone who's heard "On My Mind," has anyone noticed in the first verse (at least as heard on the radio) some parts that, in the way they're presented, are reminiscent of the "Forward troubles Illinois" line near the end of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Lookin' Out My Back Door"?
