PhilMH 22nd May 2023		Oddly, the only Arista copy that Discogs has is a Canadian one, showing only the front cover image, which does have the Arista logo and catalogue number at top left, so I imagine that Capitol-EMI of Canada would have been sent film for it, increasing the likelihood that there was a US printing of the new cover at some point. No copies of this for sale on ebay, surprisingly.



Steve Carp 21st May 2023		The Arista variants I posted are housed in the Bell 1319 jacket. I haven't seen any evidence of an Arista jacket.

moax429 3rd Feb 2019		Another piece of trivia: Screen Gems Television, which made the Partridge Family series, "morphed into" Columbia Pictures Television right after the show was canceled in September 1974. Columbia Pictures Television retained that name until 1996, when they became known as Columbia TriStar Television (in 1986, for one year only, Columbia Pictures Television was known as Coca-Cola Telecommunications, after their then-current owner). In January 2006, the TV division assumed its current name, Sony Pictures Television (in September 1989, Sony purchased Columbia Pictures). After Bell became Arista Records in late 1974, they were still a division of Columbia Pictures until March 1979, at which time Arista was purchased by the German Ariola Eurodisc company. In early 1986, Ariola also purchased RCA Records, and the company became RCA/Ariola. In mid-1988, the German Bertlesmann company bought out RCA/Ariola, and both RCA and Arista were put under BMG Music's aegis. Finally, in the mid-2000's, Sony purchased BMG, and all of BMG's labels were now under Sony's roof. So - in short - the entire Partridge Family saga, both audio and video, is all back together again now at Sony. (Unfortunately, Sony folded Arista in 2011 and placed that label's catalog under RCA Records' administration. Technically, RCA now owns all those classic Partridge Family hits under Sony - very sad.)

BEATLEJOHN 8th May 2017		A blink and you missed it 2 records in a single pocket Greatest Hits compilation!..I don't think when Bell morphed into Arista in 1975 this was carried over...my set of labels/discs 1334425 through 28 are in the configuration of sides 1 - 4 // 2 - 3.....John
