Notes Vic Dana, who was born and reared in Buffalo, New York was a high-level tap dancer who was discovered by Sammy Davis, Jr. Mr. Davis had encouraged Mr. Dana to relocate to California to advance his dancing career. Sadly, the dancing entertainment industry had greatly declined that Mr. Dana had begun a singing career thru which he had popularized the vocal rendition of Red Roses For A Blue Lady, which had reached a peak position of number 10 by means of the Billboard hit parade of discs of 45 rpm. Furthermore, from 1961 to 1967, Mr. Dana had recorded 11 discs of 33.33 rpm by means of Dolton records of which the More, Shangri-La and Red Roses For A Blue Lady were commercial successes. Despite the fact that this Vic Dana disc did not prosper, this was the first Dolton disc of 33.33 rpm from which the new 1966 to 1967 Dolton logo was a large D under which the small-print caption of “Dolton, A Product Of Liberty Records” was indicated only by means of the front and reverse jacket sides. But, the a and b sides of this Dolton disc of 33.33 rpm were still issued with either the 1963 to 1966 medium or dark blue label thru which the multi-colored Dolton logo was above the fish drawing. Finally, the 1966 to 1967 Dolton label that had the large D sub-lined by the small-print caption was first featured by means of both the a and b side disc labels thru the Dolton BLP-2042 monaural and the Dolton BST-8042 stereofonic discs.
