Cover shows Bruce Forsyth at the beginning of his illustrious carreer. Bruce was to become Britain's most-loved, most-talented and most long-lasting TV entertainer. RIP Bruce.

Lol. Well the Petula track and others sound identical to the studio versions. Her excerpt has appeared on CD, on a box set of her early work called "Meet Me in Battersea Park", so I have heard it. It's quite a funny segment of its time. I don't think all the artists can be heard speaking though so it's lucky for her fans that she is.

Thanks for that mister_tmg,i hadn't realised that the audience was "dubbed",thought it was live ;)
Here's the Petula Clark bit -
Roy Castle ...(applause)....
Bruce..."It's a very pretty young lady Petula Clark"...(applause)
Petula..."thank you,and thank you Bruce,i'd like to sing a very lovely song which came number 4 in the Eurovision song contest,it's called Suddenly"
Bruce..."wait a minute, wait a minute,i'm in charge (laughter),now what you were going to say was that you were going to sing Suddenly, with Bill Shepherd's orchestra and the Beryl Stott Chorus...Suddenly"...
(into song)...
(after song)...
Bruce..."oh,very nice,oh she is a pet isn't she "(laughter)...
Lonnie Donegan.

Some of the songs have specially recorded introductions with the artist talking to Bruce Forsyth. Petula Clark is one example. Applause is dubbed in to suggest a live show, but they are studio recordings. The introductions are an interesting curiosity though.
