Comments and Reviews veejay gilbert 20th Nov 2022 TheJudge 21st Jun 2014 Thanks for that - I've changed the release year to 1961 and added a note to the image that it relates to a post-'62 pressing. cussincarryinon02 20th Jun 2014 Several Cameo LPs released between 1961 and 1963 show at the bottom of the label »© 1960 CAMEO Records«. This obviously does not indicate the production or release date (which anyhow should have been indicated by ℗, not ©); it merely indicates that the label design was introduced (and copyrighted) by Cameo in 1960. The label design shown above is still the same as the ones having »© 1960 CAMEO Records«, but now it says »© 1963 CAMEO-PARKWAY Records«. The merger (or renaming) Cameo > Cameo-Parkway took place in late 1962, and so probably they soon after renewed the copyright for the label design and exchanged »© 1960 CAMEO Records« for »© 1963 CAMEO-PARKWAY Records«. However, this still didn't indicate any production or release date.
In the above case, the label indicates therefore a re-issue made at some point after 1962. The original release was in March 1961 (see BB March 27, 1961, p. 18); same release date on bsnpubs.com. I haven't seen a label of this LP from the first 1961 issue, but it certainly doesn't show »© 1963 CAMEO-PARKWAY Records«. It should either show »© 1960 CAMEO Records« (as on several Cameo LPs) or have no such indication at all (as on some other Cameo LPs). TheJudge 20th Jun 2014 The "1963" on the label may well be the copyright for that label design. Cameo certainly did that on their singles. Discogs gives 1961 as the year of release for this one. Anyone with any further knowledge?
