First edition copies feature a rear-sleeve graphic showing a wrongly-wired 13A plug. Safety concerns led to the sleeve then being issued with a large red sticker covering this area saying, "WARNING THIS STICKER MUST NOT BE REMOVED". Subsequent reissues (such as CHC 25) had just a large blank black area where the graphic had originally been.

There is some conjecture whether the Pete Frame family tree poster was given away with some early copies or if it had to be sent away for. One source reports that once copies with the tree ran out an order form was included. Copies with the order form would be quite scarce.

TheJudge 5th Aug 2021		Some copies of CHC 25 did have the wiring restored, some didn't. We don't have a rear-sleeve image of the restored wiring on that entry.



The Record Press 5th Aug 2021		Sleeves started to be censored quite early on - long before the first blue label copies appeared in October 1979. The Virgin-era Charisma Classics version reinstated the full rear sleeve!



The Record Press 5th Aug 2021		As per notes above, it was me (in The Famous Charisma Discography) that mentioned the claim form for the family tree. One of these came with my original copy. I filled it in dutifully and sent it to the supplied address but no family tree ever arrived...and worse, I'd also lost the now super-super rare claim form as well!

TheJudge 28th Jun 2015		I think I got mine for Christmas '79, and mine's the blue label version.



Hawkmarty SUBS 28th Jun 2015		I'm not sure when the stickered sleeves were introduced. Mine has a blue label Phonogram issue inside but I can imagine that the furore may have resulted in some brown label pressings being issued in censored sleeves.

TheJudge 16th Nov 2014		My rear cover scan shows where I removed the sticker referred to in the Notes. If anyone has a pristine version of that original version, please feel free to replace mine with it.



TheJudge 8th Aug 2014		Memorably (and dismissively) described by Dave Brock in an interview in 1980 (in Sounds, I think) as "...the final flushing of the toilet at Charisma". This appears to have been the band's 'contractual obligation' LP for the label, as it was assembled from material recorded over the period 77-78 from live takes and studio demos.
