Forgot about the Canadian-made covers - fairly common with some US labels in the early 80's (Rounder comes to mind). I don't know how widespread US-pressed records in Canadian covers are, but I certainly have a couple of US MCA-manufactured albums that are stamped EXPORT ONLY - FOR SALE OUTSIDE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES ONLY on the back covers, and which made their way into Adelaide import shops.

...and Canadian issues in USA sleeves and vice versa + Canadian or USA issues magically appearing all over the world. I have a few of these that I picked up in local stores from the the time of the MCA license. Here's an example.

Thanks for that explanation, PhilMh. So, that would mean this particular reissue came out in 1986, wouldn't it?

The first version of this reissue was on the Checker label (same label design, but in maroon) with catalogue number CH-8500, copyrighted 1982, distributed by Sugar Hill, with no mention of MCA. The Chess label with catalogue number CH-9105 dates from 1984, when Sugar Hill moved to MCA Distribution Corp. The Chess catalogue was subsequently purchased by MCA about August 1985, and catalogue number CH-91521, with the MCA Records, Inc. tag line, was a renumbering to a lower price point in about Spring 1986. It was very common to find MCA's reissues from all their labels in new pressings inside old covers, or old pressings in new covers!
