Jock_Girl 2nd Sep 2017		This LP was produced as a promotional item for radio station CKLG in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada by Atlantic Records as distributed by Quality. While no explicit catalogue number is given on the cover, the label says 'CKLG 73' which is derived from the callsign and MW frequency of the station, 730 khz. This is also found in the runout as the matrix states CKLG 73 S 1 and CKLG 73 S 2. Scratched out is matrix number of CHED 630 S 1 and CHED 630 S 2 indicating that Atlantic may have produced a similar album from radio station CHED (630 khz) in Edmonton, Alberta. Also curious is the fact that while the back cover proudly invited the consumer to 'Buy Canadian' none of the tracks are specifically Canadian with only For What It's Worth by Buffalo Springfield having any connection to Canada via member Neil Young. CKLG was a Top 40 radio station in the 1960s and 1970s and dominated the market in the lower mainland of British Columbia with its slogan "Boss Radio" and the calling its DJs "Boss Jocks". By 2001 its days as Top 40 ended and The station drifted through all news and all sports formats. Today the 730 khz frequency is occupied by CHMJ and became 'all traffic all the time' carrying nothing but road reports and weather in a commercial format.
