Comments and Reviews Neil Forbes 🍰 7th Jun 2015 I thought, perhaps CBS might've bought the rights to those tracks I mentioned from Sun Records in the early 1960s prior to the issue of this LP, so they'd have secured the rights for a future(later in the 1960s) compilation or compilations. Bill Fick 6th Jun 2015 Except for the fact that those two are Sun-era tracks, & the original Sun Records was still in operation when this LP was originally issued... Neil Forbes 🍰 6th Jun 2015 Yes, Bill, they could well have! Likely candidates would be "Ballad Of A Teenage Queen" and "Come In Stranger" . Bill Fick 5th Jun 2015 They could've replaced the gospel tracks with some of the other non-LP tracks I mentioned & still kept it a 12-track LP. Neil Forbes 🍰 3rd Jun 2015 I'd have made this a 5-tracks-per-side album by deleting Track 6 on each side - Keep it Secular! Bill Fick 3rd Jun 2015 This is Cash's 1st "best of" compilation released by Columbia. With the exception of track A4 (which was on his 1st Columbia LP), none of these songs had seen LP release yet. For me, A4 should've been substituted with another non-LP track from 1958-63 ("All Over Again", "I Got Stripes", "Locomotive Man", "Girl In Saskatoon", "Smiling Bill McCall", etc...).
As compilation LPs go, it's one of the better ones. Bill Fick 6th Aug 2014 A6 with the Carter Family also.
