It's true Andy wanted to buy the rights to all his songs when Archie Blyer wanted to retire Cadence. The story I heard was Archie wouldn't sell unless he bought the whole catalog, which was the genesis of Barnaby records.
Not an exact reissue. I Like Your Kind Of Love and Butterfly were dropped.
There's a story here about Andy buying the Cadence catalog himself for the very purpose of suppressing these rock and roll oriented songs of his, which he hated. I'm not sure of the timing. Columbia had the catalog here and reissued it.
As time went on I assume it was Andy who was responsible for Cadence reissues like the Everly Brothers on Barnaby etc.
