Phil, you may well be right, I personally can't recall buying this new (I would if I did) so it is definitely a second hand copy that was probably bought in the late 70's. I was never a member of the Australian Warped Record Club so I know it didn't come to me via them. If that is where it came from it is in surprisingly good shape and by that I mean flat. Anyway it's likely to sit on the shelf in retirement because it's got more sentimental than real value. A bit like those Record Collector magazines people can't give away - the people that have them are the people that wanted them.
Hi Lee, looking at the back cover, I think this is a record club pressing, from the Australian Record Club (CBS Record & Cassette Club from 1977) which handled the ARC, WEA and Phonogram groups of labels; the giveaway is a subtle difference in the wording, "Distributed in Australia under Licence from WEA Records Pty. Ltd.", whereas normal retail copies had "Manufactured and distributed by WEA Records Pty. Ltd."
The song Luxury predates 10CC's Dreadlock Holiday for the "white reggae" honours but believe it or not it is actually a worse song. Hard to believe I know! But the rest of the album is fairly forgettable other than the swaggering single It's Only Rock N' Roll and white funk of Fingerprint File.
