 Bowie - track A3 Sweet Thing

....this is my favourite track by Bowie, showing his impressive vocal range, and a feeling of menace, with a very creditable arrangement and production by David.

As an aside, I lived most of my growing up years in the same road in Stockwell where David was born in 1947, he's 18 months my senior.
His family moved out of No. 40 in 1953, our family moved into No. 36 in April 1957 (I was 9).
I obviously never knew the young David Jones as he was born, but neighbours who I knew and were the same age, or younger, or older must have known him, including our elderly widowed neighbour Mrs. Morris at No. 38.
Barry Hunt - No. 26 - (same age as DB),
Eva Dignan - No. 29 - (same age),
Anthony Sisley - No. 30 - (older),
and Pam Burgess - No. 31 - (older), and her younger brother Leslie (my age), who was part of "our gang" of kids in Stansfield Road.

I dated a girl from Beckenham early 1969 onwards, and she used to go to The Three Tuns public house in High Street, Beckenham where David Bowie used to play for free, acoustic music, plus a bit of mime and poetry (Beckenham Arts Lab)......I never went with her to see him, that really wasn't my thing then, or now.
DB was living at the time in Beckenham with a friend Mary Finnigan, and appearing most Sundays at The Three Tuns pub . Small world, isn't it.
