Notes

This info is found by means of the 21 May 1955 edition of the Billboard magazine on page 65.

For most of the life of Lou Stein, romantic music is the type in which he had specialized. Although Mr. Stein had attempted to play various instruments during his boyhood, he mastered the playing of the clarinet and the piano. Accordingly, this disc is subtitled "His Piano and Orchestra."

Despite the fact that Mr. Stein had professionally played the piano, he was called into the armed forces where he played with the band of Major Glenn Miller and fought to protect the USA during the Second World War for three years.

Some time later, Mr. Stein had played with the Charlie Ventura Sextet and was heard with various entertainers, such as Andre Kostelanetz, Percy Faith.. and had been presented on many famous television programs.

Even though Mr. Stein had successfully played modern jazz to a romantic style with tunes such as Out of Nowhere, Athena and Sweet and Lovely, this disc sadly did NOT sell well and did NOT become a sought-after item possibly because most classical music lovers enjoy hearing stereofonically such music. Finally, since no stereo recordings existed at that time, this disc and so many classical music discs monaural often were found in mint condition for one dollar at flea market outlets or Goodwill shops.
