Notes The info of this disc is found by means of the 10 September 1955 edition of the Billboard magazine on page 24, which continues on page 28. Raoul Poliakin plays the violino solo by means of "My Impression Of Janie," whereas Harvey Shapiro sounds the cello solo of the tune "Make Me" and Isador Zir plays the viola solaby means of "My Love's A Gentle Man." Gina Lollobrigida, who is a film superstar, made her album debut by means of the Ulpio Minucci, this disc of 33.33 rpm where she neither sings nor sounds any instrument. In fact, Miss Lollobrigida presents the music of Mr. Minucci, who is a classically trained pianist and composer. During the early life of Mr. Minucci, he studied law simply because members of "high-class" families Italian needed to have a "respectable" profession. Accordingly, Mr. Minucci chose to professionally play the piano, but he found tremendous difficulty finding entertainment work in Italia mainly due to numerous villages and cities that we destroyed during the second world war. After the war, Mr. Minucci became a newspaper journalist, and was eventually sent by his boss to the USA as a Washington D. C. foreign correspondent. When Mr. Minucci had quit his journalist job, he took a risk to professionally be a musical entertainer. For a few years, Mr. Minucci had difficulty finding entertainment work until he reached music publisher Larry Spier, who had signed him to a contract at Coral Records. At Coral Records, Mr. Minucci had found and collaborated with high-rated composers. While Mr. Minucci had demonstrated some tunes for Coral artists, Bob Thiele was so impressed that he suggested that Mr. Minucci write and record songs for an album called Gina Lollobrigida presents Ulpio Minucci, which is this Coral disc. Although Mr. Minucci had composed all the tunes of this disc with various songwriters, this disc sadly did not sell well.
