Notes

Israel Melinkoff, known professionally Roberto Mellin was a composer, lyricist and music publisher, who was born in 1902 in Kyiv, Russian Empire, now called the Ukraine. The first occupation of Mr. Mellin was that of a music plugger at Remick Music in Chicago. Later, Mr. Mellin had relocated to Europe where he had started his own publishing company called Robert Mellin Music, located in Denmark Street in London’s Tin Pan Alley.

Mr. Mellin had penned several popular standards, such as I’m Yours, My One and Only Love thru which he composed both the music and lyrics, and the solely the lyrics of Stranger on the Shore, which was an international top success for clarinetist Acker Bilk, who composed the instrumental music. Later, Mr. Mellin had recorded several discs for Coral records. Sadly, none of these discs, most particularly this Coral disc CRL-57014, were commercial failures.

Though this Coral disc is NOT an easy find, a mint copy condition can still be purchased for less than ten dollars due to the fact that this disc is not in high demand even for listeners of the Latin-style music.
