Notes Release info of this disc is found by means of the 9 August 1958 edition of the Cash Box magazine on page 30. Alan Freed had recently formed a rock and roll blues band called "the King's Henchmen," which plays the tunes of this disc in a 12 bar blues style. This group features King Curtis, Sam "The Man" Taylor and Count Hastings, who play the tenor saxophones, Kenny Burrell (guitar player), Everett Barksdale (bass guitar player) and Ernie Hayes, the piano player. While King Curtis had composed one tune, Leroy Kirkland and Sammy Lowe had composed the remainig eleven tunes of this disc of 33.33 rpm. Images
