Notes This is the seventh postumus disc of 33.33 rpm that Coral records had issued of Buddy Holly despite the fact that no new tunes could be issued since 1959. When Mr. Holly had decided to pursue a musical career, he sang with a group called the three tunes, which mainly recorded rock-a-billy music in a Nashville recording studio. Despite the fact that this band had never gained national exposure to the music industry, many of their recordings were issued by means of Decca records in 1958 after the Crickets had become nationally reknowned. After Mr. Holly and the Crickets had secured a recording contract with Brunswick and Coral records, they recorded most of their tunes at the Norman Petty Studio in Clovis New Mexico. A year and a half later, Mr. Holly had chosen to have a solo recording career, so he and his wife Elena had relocated to NYC. This was the first time that Mr. Holly had recorded at the main Coral recording studio, where he made his first stereofonic recordings, such as It Doesn't Matter Anymore, Raining In My Heart, Moondreams, and True Love Ways. Sadly, Mr. Holly had died in an airplane crash with the Big Bopper and Ricci Valens the 3 February 1959, but Coral had continued to issue most of the tunes that Mr. Holly had recorded. Though this Best of Buddy Holly disc did NOT sell well, this LP is highly sought-after that this disc could sell from any price range such as $75 to well over $1000 depending upon the condition of this disc. Eternally, rest in peace Mr. Holly Images Comments and Reviews Add a Comment or Review about this album See Also Vinyl AlbumBuddy Holly - The Great Buddy Holly - Vocalion - USA (1967) Next by Artist Vinyl AlbumBuddy Holly - The Best Of Buddy Holly - Coral - USA (1966) Previous by Artist Vinyl AlbumPete Fountain - Mood Indigo - Coral - USA (1966) Next on Label Vinyl AlbumBuddy Holly - The Best Of Buddy Holly - Coral - USA (1966) Previous on Label This Record: Price Guide : Add Valuation : Add Image : Add Video : Add Missing Info : Make Correction : Add See Also : Add Linked Release : Add to List : Add Tag : Show Image Data : Edit Images : BBCode : Credits
