ReviewRonnie's seventh and final album for Diamond Records (also the last LP put out by the label) and Ronnie's second compilation album. The album features four original songs in addition to the hits. Something of note is the song "Back from Baltimore", originally issued as the B-side of Ronnie's minor chart hit "Dancing Out of My Heart", is included while the A-side is omitted. "Baltimore" is a fine Neil Diamond produced and written song, written for Ronnie after his producer Phil Kahl refused to let him record "Red Red Wine". Another Diamond track ("My Babe") is also included. The closing track is enough to bring tears to your eyes as well. Ronnie's talent as a singer is evident in this album, as it is in all his others as well. Worth picking up!
I note that Dancin' Out Of My Heart is not in this compilation, but its original 45rpm B-side turns up at Tr.B4, Back From Baltimore. Good up-tempo number, penned by Neil Diamond at a time when he himself was just beginning to establish himself as a singer on Bert Berns' Bang label in New York.
