 This is generally regarded as the first compilation L.P. targeted at Britain's "Northern Soul Scene" and was compiled by D.J. Ian Levine.
There was a follow up L.P. released ... here that contained slightly more commercial material.
This is Side 2 Track 1 of this collection.

I bought my copy in a bargain bin for about 50p around 1976, the knock-down price being as the sleeve was missing. The cover image I have posted (image #654045) is from The 2004 CD reissue of this Collection issued by Castle Music. The C.D. reissue contained an extra 10 tracks.
