This is the first disc of 33 rpm of Cat Stevens that was issued in the United States. Though Stevens was born Steven Georgiu, he not only changed his birth name to Cat Stevens, but he also credited all of his tunes to Stevens. Even though Stevens was not well known at the time that his Deram recordings were first issued in the United States in the late 1960s, he composed most if not all the tunes that he sang. This United States issued disc of 33 rpm contains twelve tunes, whereas the United Kingdom equivalent consisted of sixteen tracks. The four songs that were issued by means of the UK disc of Matthew And Son that did not appear on the US disc of Matthew And Son were Portobello Road, Granny, The Tramp and Come On And Dance. Also, the UK disc of Matthew And Son indicates When I Speak To The Flowers, but the US disc of this title omits the When I by means of both the back jacket and the actual disc. Accordingly, the US title is simply Speak To The Flowers.
