Notes

Although Bill Haley and the Comets are most renowned that they achieved national success by means of their Decca recordings, the Comets first disc of 45 rpm was Juke Box Cannon Ball b/w Sundown Boogie, which was issued in 1952 by means of the Holiday records label that was based in Philadelphia. This disc was reissued by means of the Essex label from which their most successful song was Rock This Joint.

When the Comets secured a contract with Decca records, two of their first recordings, Rock Around The Clock and Thirteen Women (And Only Man In Town), were first issued in the spring of 1954. At that time, this disc only reached the peak of the 23rd position by means of the Billboard hit parade of discs of 45 rpm. After Rock Around the Clock was featured in the film Blackboard Jungle, this tune became a national number one success in mid-1955.

Despite the fact that the “stereofonic” counterpart of this disc of 33.33 rpm exists, every tune is electronically enhanced to simulate stereofonic sound effects. Finally, this was the final Comets disc of 33.33 rpm that was both monaurally and stereofonically issued in the United States.
