George Slv 19th Aug 2015		The sessionography says all 12 songs were rerecorded. Meanwhile the Goldmine editors had reason to say not all songs were stereo. Rerecording hits is a terrible thing.

W.B.lbl 18th Aug 2015		And according to this link, this stereo LP was issued April 1959 (and the mono DLP 3071, in September 1957); sessionographies date the re-recordings for stereo to circa March 1959.



George Slv 17th Aug 2015		The Goldmine record catalog gives this date as 1959, which is when the stereo rerecordings are said to be done. It also says the album is only partially stereo. I still want to hear this Love Letters for comparison.



W.B.lbl 16th Aug 2015		And in any case, stereo LP's weren't issued by the big labels (including Dot) until mid-1958. The 1957 mono issue would have had the original recordings, this one the re-recordings.



Trainman 12th Mar 2015		My source only mention the stereo vis-s-vis the mono LP. I take you're comparing the mono release to the single? I'll have to see if I Have the 45 and compare it.



George Slv 12th Mar 2015		Would you say the mono release contained the same rerecordings? Love Letters In The Sand does not have the whistling intro.



Trainman 12th Mar 2015		Some of the tracks on this album were actually re-recorded for this stereo version, rather than re-channeling the original mono tracks.
