Notes

Hiram (Hank) Williams was a prominent country singer from the decade of 1930 until his death in early 1953. His music was quite appealing to persons who listened to different types of music genre, most especially those who professionally played rhythm and blues music.

For example, Ray Charles treasured the style of the music of Mr. Williams that Mr. Charles had recorded at least three tunes, such as Take These Chains From My Heart, You Are My Sunshine and Your Cheatin' Heart. Accordingly, all these three songs were issued by means of both discs of 33.33 and of 45 rpm. Furthermore, all three tracks had peaked no lower than position 30 of the Billboard Hit Parade. Also, Adam Wade had recorded and popularized the tune I Can't Help It (If I'm Still In Love With You), which was a major success in the greater New York City area.

This particular MGM disc of 33.33 rpm was issued in 1955 with the 1950s style yellow labels, plus Hank Williams with his Drifting Cowboys are credited by means of the MGM labels. A few years later, around 1958, this disc was reissued with a new front and reverse jacket, but the original yellow MGM label and the track formation of both sides had remained the same for this first reissue. After the yellow MGM label changed to black, this disc of 33.33 was reissued with the same front and reverse jacket reissues and the same sequence of tunes, but the only difference was that the new black MGM label was issued.

Now that Mr. Williams rest in peace with the Lord, his music still continues to be played worldwide, and has influenced country music singers to create new kinds of country music that became more popular toward the end of the twentieth century to this day.
