Notes

Lee Tully was a Chicago-born Yiddish-American humorist who composed comedy songs that focus largely by means of his experience in the Catskill Mountains in upstate New York.

Though Mr. Tully first reached prosperity in Chicago, he felt this city did not have the resources to the level that Mr. Tully wanted to achieve. Consequently, he went to New York to fulfill his dream due to the fact that New York had a much larger diversified Jewish population than Chicago had. Mr. Tully later had teamed up with renowned Broadway comedy writers, Eli Bass, who writes for well-known stars, such as Jackie Gleason, Sophie Tucker and Frank Sinatra, and Bobby Kroll, who was such a prolific comedy writer and arranger that Mr. Kroll had arranged co-arranged the writing with Mr. Tully and Mr. Bass. Also, the orchestra of this disc was arranged and conducted by Ralph Stein.

Sadly, this disc was not a good seller, but now this has become a sought-after item for Yiddish-American comedy listeners. Lastly, this was the final MGM disc of 33.33 rpm thru which the front jacket had indicated in the upper right angle, the MGM logo inside a circle just below the caption "A High Fidelity Recording" followed by the catalog ID number.
