Notes

Etta "Sheila" Guyse was a popular entertainer and recording artist primarily during the 1940s and the 1950s. When Ms. Guyse first arrived in New York in 1945, she had who worked at a dime shop in New York during the day, and had performed in amateur shows during the night time. Later that year, Ms. Guyse had made her entertainment debut at the Club Zombie in Detroit.

During the late 1940s, Ms. Guyse had performed in three film, which were "Boy! What A Girl!", "Sepia Cinderella" and "Miracle In Harlem." She also acted in three Broadway stage productions, such as Memphis Bound, Lost In The Stars and Finian's Rainbow. Also, Ms. Guyse was featured numerous times on front covers of magazines such as Ebony, Jet and Our World.

This MGM disc was her first and only disc of 33.33 rpm thru which she had recorded, but this LP sold only a small number of copies.despite the fact that the well-renowned Leroy Holmes orchestra had played the music. Regardless, Ms. Guyse continued to prosper in the entertainment industry for the next few decades until she had contracted Alzheimer's disease.
