Notes

Jimmy Newman was a country-and-western and cajun singer and composer who fluently spoke French and English. Even though Mr. Newman had to quit school to financially support his family, he managed to become a member of a local band only one year after he had received a guitar.

After Mr. Newman had achieved a successful recording career, he was hired a regular performer by the Louisiana Hayride radio program. A few years later, Mr. Newman was invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and he had prospered his best-selling tune, "A Fallen Star", less than one year later.

Though this disc did not sell well, it became a moderately sought-after disc of country and cajun music listeners. Finally, this was the fourth-to-last MGM disc of 33.33 rpm that was initially issued by means of the black print that was on a yellow label background.
