Vinyl Album
Notes All ten tunes of this MGM disc were popular during the big band era of the 1940s; However, Mr. James wanted a new arrangement for these tunes so that they could be monaurally and stereofonically available to big band listeners. Two arrangers, Ernie Wilkins, who arranged eight of the ten tunes of this disc and Bob Florence, who arranged Satin Doll and Eyes, had sent these song arrangements to Mr. James at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas. This MGM disc was not a good seller mainly due to the fact that the majority of radio listeners enjoyed the 1950s rock and roll music and had felt that the swing era music style was too antiquated for the rock era.
