Shirely Bassey is a renowned songstress who first became popular in her native land of the United Kingdom. When this MGM disc was issued, Ms. Bassey was almost unknown beyond most European countries. In the United States, Ms. Bassey had first gained fame for the tune Goldfinger, which was her first disc of 45 rpm that peaked at position # 7 of the Billboard hit parade of discs of 45 rpm.

Though this MGM disc did not sell well in neither the United States nor Canada, this disc, which was issued by UK Columbia records had sold tremendously well in the United Kingdom. Finally, Ms. Bassey had also earned prominence in both picture shows and Broadway productions.
