A1: FOLLOW THE BOYS is the second recording.
A3: INTRIGUE is an instrumental and does not feature any vocals by Connie Francis
A6: INTRIGUE [Dixieland version] is an instrumental recording as well.
All of the selections to this LP were recorded on September 27th & 28th, 1962. The first six were featured in the motion picture of the same title which Connie Francis also starred in. The title song recorded at the time was eventually replaced with a new take cut on January 10th, 1963. At this same recording session harmony vocals were added to:
- TONIGHTS MY NIGHT
- ITALIAN LULLABY
- IN YOUR ARMS
The January 10th, 1962 take of FOLLOW THE BOYS is commonly referred to as the LP version and appears on both the mono and stereo versions of this LP. Additionally, a third recording was made on February 4th, 1963 which is commonly referred to as the singles version. This third recording was released on international/worldwide singles. Additionally, it also appears on the LP MGM E 4167 compilation of tunes titled THE VERY BEST OF CONNIE FRANCIS CONNIE'S 15 BIGGEST HITS!
These tracks are not evident on the soundtrack to the motion picture. On June 30th, 1962 Connie Francis recorded 4 soundtrack versions of FOLLOW THE BOYS, 2 of WAITING FOR BILLY, 2 of TONIGHT'S MY NIGHT and 1 of ITALIAN LULLABY, re-recording the latter on July 6th, 1962.
In December of 1962 Connie Francis flew to England and placed on soundtrack at the MGM studio in Elstree, the versions that now are part of the motion picture FOLLOW THE BOYS.
