added front and back sleeve images inner gatefold the same as Uk edition. Printed on very thick unlaminated card, hence why the colour is a bit washed out (it's not my poor camera skills)

It's likely that the catalogue number for the South African pressing is identical. I am not sure what the D or J denote, as such.

Just noticed that the address stamped on my copy's label is for Harare, Zimbabwe. Should have seen that as a big clue that it was zimbabwean!

Does the (D) in the cat. Number have anything to do with zimbabwe ?
African emi records have the J added to them but was wondering what the D was for?

it does look Zimbabwean to me. Label quality and indeed vinyl quality was usually superior in South Africa, not to mention sleeves of course (glossy in South Africa; unglossy matt in Zimbabwe)

Also kimbozw do you agree that this release is Zimbabwean or is it actually South African pressing? When i bought it was sold as a SA pressing but I thought the rough labels and the fact that the sleeve is printed on a thick card indicated a zimbabwee pressing

That explains why i have only seen African issues of MIsplaced childhood on ebay then. Obviously being brought for Kayleigh!

Sadly Marillion failed to reach any album sales chart in Southern Africa. The band's sole claim to fame in the region was the song KAYLEIGH which although it did not feature on a sales chart did find its way onto two airplay/popularity charts in South Africa with peaks of #1 on Radio 5 and #13 on Capital Radio
