My mother-in-law was a fan and I picked this L.P up in a charity shop, I told her about it and she was ecstatic and produced some autographs of the band which I duly photocopied and placed inside the L.P.
Their Fontana 45 'Major Catastrophe' is excellent and I'm looking for a copy!
This was our first LP and came out on the Saga Label, although we had released singles on the Fontana Label, Fontana were not prepared to gamble on letting us record an LP as we had not had a 'Chart' single, so our then manager Tokenam Aw, managed to secure a deal with Saga, and we recorded the complete album in a week at Regent Sound Studios. It was also our first opportunity to record some of our own music compositions, and although the album sold very well it did not appear in any Album Charts as it was only sold in Woolworths, and W.H. Smiths Newspaper Shops, and the charts compilations were made from sales returns at larger record shops such as H.M.V. etc.
