djraggy 4th Jul 2015		I'd be inclined to put the date as 1982. Any U.K. Fame releases from around 1984 onward would have catalogue numbers starting "FA 41"



nboldock 3rd Jul 2015		I can confirm there's no barcode on the copy I have. I actually got it only fairly recently (in a joblot that had an instant Japan collection in it) so no idea when it was originally purchased I'm afraid. I'll try and get it scanned/photographed on the weekend at some point. I also have another set of labels to do, I have that Eddie Cochran comp on Fame - I'll get to that as well. Gut feeling says this is 1982, I think 1984 may well be wrong.

Graham7 27th Jun 2015		1982 would certainly fit the discog better. I've not changed date, but I feel the numbers must follow in a chronological sequence.



Magic Marmalade 21st Jun 2015		I'm not sure about the date on this. Although Discogs gives this date, the cat. No. is anachronistic with other Fame Issues if it is given this release date. If it were to fit into the fame cataloue sequence (Assuming of course they released records in sequence chronologically...as appears, looking at others in the sequence) it should have a release date of around 1982 sometime, with the original album being released in 1980. I wonder now if there isn't some underlying logic to the Fame reissue programme, as I've had (Admitedly only a cursory) a mosey at a few titles in the sequence, and compared with the original release dates of the correspnding albums in those artist's discographies, and it would seem that there is usually a new album by that artist released roughly around the time that an earlier album by them is reissued on Fame. This is not a new Idea, as obviously, it's the most natural thing in the world for EMI to want to cash in on any new product by an artist, which raises their current profile at that time, by putting out something from earlier in their catalogue to accompany it... In Pink Floyd's catalogue, this is often the case anyway, outside of the Fame label, as whenever they released a new album, pretty much all their previous albums were reissued, or repressed at the same time, and the Piper Fame reissue corresponds with the release of The Final Cut, and the harvest reissues of the barcoded Dark Side and Meddle (Probably others too). I wonder if this could be a helpful tool in dating some Fame issues.
