Just had a little look on ebay to see what one of these was going for (Yikes!), but putting value aside for a moment, there's one with "Original Ruby Red Vinyl"...

...the kind that shows up translucent red against a light source.

There's been a couple of albums now where it's been remarked that this kind of vinyl was used, and it made me wonder if it was all these small and independent labels of the time using the same pressing plant (After all, they had to get them pressed somewhere!).

And since we know that Pye hit the skids about then, could it have been that as Pye had troubles around then, they took on a lot of the independent labels pressings to make up the short fall on their books?

Is it worth looking at all independent label pressings against a light to see if this is universally true, or just an anomaly?

My scans are of a textured cover too JJ. Just that yours show it better. I just looked at the matrix on my copy to find that it is a Lyntone pressing dating to 1981. (LYN-9435, LYN-9436). I will promote JJ's images and amend mine.

Have added textured cover, back of inner sleeve with rounded die cut corners and thumb cut, and labels from a different plant. The ones shown look like they could be from CBS's Aston Clinton plant, (on discogs this issue has currently labels looking like a Phonodisc pressing), and the ones on mine I have no idea.

Anyone know about the S-3 (I guess is stamper numbering), the scripting I have seen numerous times, but it seems not to identify anything yet.

Oh, and about running order: To match the inner sleeve, Outside and Inside have the labels swapped and the etch adds B to Outside, and A to Inside, go figure what's intent and what accident?
