I keep hitting the review button by mistake. I saw their reformed gig in 99, (released as an album), various members of the band are currently gigging around the UK, I think their last played gig was in 2015...
sure your's a review, sid? :-) At least I know something more now (that could have been easily achieved anytime using my faxe engine, but I do not place that much emphasis on certain bits of info....)
they only made 3 albums when they were actually going, this one, Head on Collision Time & Popish Frenzy. Albums 2+3 are harder to find than Beat That. There were some later complilations after they split.
More than 2 years on, and this is still the only entry for this great group. Added missing back and labels, and also full front, carryons' was slightly cheated by ICE....
Lee, The Purple Hearts were still gigging in 2013 at Mods Mayday in Cambridge after reforming on numerous occasions over the years with the original line up and still sounding great. There's a couple of other albums available too which I'll add to the list over the next week or so.
You haven't got away with it now you've told me!! Does this logic work on The Beatles The Beatles? Personally, I think it would look better with the proper perspective of the full cover. What happened to these boys anyway? I remember a lot of hope and hype around them for a while, was it the dreaded tour of the US and not enough fish and chips to keep the boys happy?
I remember this one too! Good job on the cover. ICE is great but does have its limits for instance you need be careful about how you scan in sparse covers or those with highly repetitive patterns (The Beatles - The Beatles is impossible - I've tried). Another thing is sometimes ICE won't, for some reason, want to join all 4 scans at once. Don't panic and re-scan everything, like I did at first, see if you can patch the image in halves (join two left side scans together, the two right and then see if ICE can patch the two) this can work (80%) and saves having rescan 4 images. It's all a bit like magic though and even after doing 100's of images I still marvel at the results when the finished image just pops up.
