The album that I added followed closely on the heels of Johnny Cash 1970 that you have already added https://www.45worlds.com/vinyl/album/gold0001. Same presentation i.e. gatefold cover design with the record inserted from the middle and gold edging on the cover.
Thanks, Jasper I was totally unaware of your original issue but it does explain the incongruous name of the album from labels to jacket on my copy. It is weird the stuff you find out cataloging your collection though. Cheers, Lee.
I have linked the release of this album that I'd previously added. I wasn't aware of it being released with this cover. Labels look pretty much the same. I remember the one that I added (I bought it new) was quite heavily promoted on TV by Music For Pleasure.
Found it in the rumpus room with the no-longer-wants, and it DOES have 3AK on it after all, so I was probably thinking of something else when I thought it was a NSW station, no idea what though (senility striking again - but at least my vision is better after getting new glasses a couple of weeks ago!). You may not know what you're letting yourself in for in CD land - as well as trying to get the when right, there is frequently the additional issue of trying to work out exactly where something was released! Most Australian CD releases were overseas pressings up to the early 1990s when the factories were commissioned, but even recent issues can be pressings from Europe or elsewhere.
Phil, I was going to go for 10:1 on but hedged my bets. Anyway thanks for all your help getting my collection in properly. I'm almost done in album land and should finish the comps off in a day or two. Then I'll be seeing you in CD world but I only have about 900 of those to do. I'm hoping plenty will already be in but I've had a cursory look and fear that most of what I've got will need to be entered over there as well. I'll be relieved to move on to a world where scanning is easier, though I might invest in a magnifying glass before I start. I'll be back here as I get a hold of new stuff but most likely I'll be finding or causing problems in CD land soon. Once again, thanks for all your assistance with my stuff in this world.
Hi Lee, I've just clicked "own" but now I can't find my copy, it's not with my other Motown compilations. I've possibly put it in another room with my no longer wants/duplicates, as I have all the tracks on other albums. Anyway, as you can see from the labels, this is a repackaged DIANA ROSS AND THE SUPREMES PLUS, and I seem to remember my copy had the logo of one of the NSW radio stations on the front cover, instead of 3AK. Can't help with the release date, as I bought the album second hand.
