 fun for children of all ages from just old enough to enjoy this, and who love picture books at bed-time, through not so old as to've lost their sense of fun, who put enthusiasm into their telling of the stories; all will also enjoy "good zap, little grog!" by sarah wilson & susan meddaugh (very large format colour in both hardcover and vlf paperback; walker, h/cvr, london 1995, reprinted 1996 and maybe more times in the vlf p/b) - the rhymed, rhythmic language is simple, with all the invented animals & plants clearly identifiable on the pages referring to them, which is itself turnable into a game to play - and kids learn which are which rather faster than the adults reading (& re-reading) the book to them :-))
