 I've made a corresponding change for the album(s), and created the label "Hot Wax [UK]". The label design also looks familiar to me, but I can't think where from. If it were red, it would look like one of those old wax seals, which I guess is the point.

 No, it's definitely not the HDH label. This is UK, and I'm racking my brains trying to think of what the printing/font/layout style on the labels reminds me of in terms of one of the big companies of that time who may have set it up/distributed it. But the link won't come...time for bed, I think.

Edit: EMI, perhaps?

 The label, Hot Wax, is presumably nothing to do with the old soul label set up by Holland-Dozier-Holland. If that's confirmed, we need to separate the two labels.

 The album title may have been a euphemism - the inner jacket is inscribed with marker pen "(something) the past and play the music" and this is repeated in Morse code on the jacket front
