ppint. 18th Sep 2016		ah, that's more like it, mistress hawkmarty; though yr hmbl srppnt. s'spects the background colour varied some, and quite markedly, over the years. (iirc, some were describable at best as "off-white", and the printing was sometimes somewhat blotchy; but this could be confusing em with others of this ilk - and maybe even [artist=blaster-bates]blaster bates[/artist]es rather more stunning opera. . . (yr hmbl srppnt. did not ever sell/help sell a single one of these lps, nor see anyone else do so - but we/they must have, as we/they needed to restock them fairly reliably often...)



Hawkmarty SUBS 15th Sep 2016		They did not sir pint. I believe they were originally issued on the same label as this LP. Or at least this one was; not sure about Volume 2.

Hawkmarty SUBS 13th Sep 2016		The Surprise label was a very early Island offshoot. I read somewhere that this LP was the first release by Island of "music" by white artists but that may be apocryphal.
