Hawkmarty SUBS 25th Nov 2017		ppint, in belated answer to your comment last February, yes there were still mono pressings at the time of the third pink label design; John Martyn's "London Conversation" and Tull's "This Was"; both available on that design.



ppint. 9th Feb 2017		h'marty (re your 6/10/13 observation): had island still been issuing albums in both mono and stereo editions when they released this, it'd've presented them with a bit of a problem: their standard method of distinguishing between stereo and mono lps' numerical cat#s° was to omit the second, always "0", digit immediately following the initial "9" from the four-digit stereo lp cat# (or, viewing contrariwise, to insert a "0" after the initial "9" into the three-digit mono lp cat#). - were there still albums with mono as well as stereo versions "alive" on island's catalogue, by the time of the "outline 'i' below the centre hole, on an island pink ground" label? - if so, then yes, just "yet another pressing-plant mistake". ° - the alpha part of the standard, full-price lp prefix being varied from ILP (mono) to ILPS (stereo), of course; i don't know, but i think varying the cat# as well as the alpha prefix was part of a "belt and braces" approach to ensuring there were no pressing-plant mix-ups - or trying to. . .

Hawkmarty SUBS 6th Oct 2013		Just noticed while cropping the image of my third pink version B side that it was printed on Mono label stock. John Martyn's "London Conversation" and Jethro Tull's "This Was" were both re-issued on the third pink label in their mono format so it looks like Island used up some of the surplus or were a bit careless as I also have the Free album "Free" with the A side label on Mono stock.
