Break-In Master 7th Mar 2023
| | I just listened to it for the first time this afternoon and I thought it was a great album!1 I've been listening to all of their stuff for the first time and, so far, this at the Art album were the only two I'd bother listening to again! The rest, so far (I'm just starting side two of "Last Puff", is pretty plebeian and VERY early `70's! I.E.: pretty boring, bland and uninspiring of this type of band from that era. I grew up in this era (early teens) and I can't imagine people from that era buying this stuff and listening to it over and over again1 |

| | As a matter of interest there's at least one Pierre Henry album that uses unreleased recordings from this project, I can't remember the name of it though ! From around 1970 I think. |

| | deepinder: not sure i've heard anyone deride "ceremony": express dislike of it, or simply say it wasn't their kind of thing (or even not their "bag"°), yes - but not express derision.
(° - but never, "not my bag, man" - i won't say none of my friends never committed a cliche; but certainly not that one.)
- the comments of the individual members of spooky tooth are expressed in the liner-notes to the island/universal cd (transfer? remaster?), those who could bring themselves to cast their minds back to a mildly strange, even somewhat surreal, and in the end, rather unsatisfactory - for them - experience. |

| | I'm not at all sure why this LP is regularly derided. I think it a superb sonic experience and quite un like anything before or since. I think it has 'gravitas' and is a really heavy LP. It captures the feeling of 1969 into 1970 perfectly. |

| | greg78s: not least because it did not involve the group as a whole, nor even all of the group separately & individually - despite the lp's billing, it was really pierre henry's project, with some members of spooky tooth playing - separately, mostly - on the recordings under his direction. |
