kimbozw 15th Aug 2019		The single NAIRAM taken from this album credits (THE) MIKE GIBBS ORCHESTRA. Michael Gibbs was born in Rhodesia in September 1937 and was a jazz composer, conductor, arranger and producer as well as a trombonist and keyboardist. He released his first album in 1970. He was the director for the BBC TV comedy programme THE GOODIES from 1970 to 1974. He later left the UK to take up a teaching position at Berklee in the USA. On 02 October 2017 he was presented with a BASCA Gold Badge Award in recognition of his unique contribution to music. He was known for his collaborations with vibraphonist Gary Burton, his student, and for his use of rock elements in orchestral jazz. Information thanks to Wikipedia.
