| | I have diver labels (as Italy but slight print difference to cat nos.). Matrix stamped ILPS 9576 A - 2U and 9 4 and 'JOAR' scratched / B - 2U and 2 3 and 'sound clinic'.
Inner sleeve as US; but above photo is 'ILPS 9576 (I)...[I for insert?? perhaps).
All seems to be UK but no mention of such anywhere; 'Manufactured and distributed by EMI Records Limited' bottom right rear sleeve.
Though my properly cut and stuck sleeve has the spine text down the left of the front sleeve - not seen in any uploaded pictures; and there is a five pointed star after the cat. no.
Any meanings behind these minor sightings? |

| | also, printing up a couple of thousand for the anticipated first run of pressings and immediate re-pressings makes logistical, as well as commercial sense - whereas printing odd lots of just a couple of hundred down to as few as, say, fifty for monthly - or even quarterly - re-re-re-pressings, after the lp's fallen out of the top one, two or three hundred. . .
(- someone kick me occasionally, and i'll dig out & check my copy, which i'll've bought in london, the first or second week it was out. . . eventually. . .) |

| | not entirely sure umbria, but outside of the standard Island labels progrssion, I'd assume that first presses would have the picture labels as a feature, before somebody at the label says they're too expensive to produce, and just puts them out with normal island labels.
Best check the matrix numbers and such to confirm it. |

| | I have the blue 'diver' picture label, does this denote an earlier or later pressing than the palm tree shown above? |

| | first had this as an (pre-promotion, let alone release) unlabelled cassette from harvey goldsmith, courtesy of john, for babysitting services in the desolation of north peckham's peabody tenement buildings.
- b1 struck me as the obvious single a-side, and i assumed that that would be the lead title of the album, and hence determine which was side one. still (imnsho) think it should have been, and be. . . |
