Added a full set of scans for moderation and inclusion. Although this is a bootleg (I will send a correction) it is one of the best if not the best I've ever heard. A genuine 180gr pressing cleanly and well pressed at GZ Media which is good because they can be patchy but this album is a good pressing (at least my copy is). The giveaway signs are the blurry type in the white box (top of back cover) and the wrongly titled track B2 Rhythm Island (Rhythm Salad) but there's more if you delve a little deeper.
It states "manufactured under license from ODL" on the back cover and that may well be the case but ODL is a label that mainly specialises in releasing live radio broadcasts and is registered in Cypress along with the rest of the labels in the Obiterdictum Media Ltd. stable. All of their listings in all of their catalogues are unofficial releases or in other words bootlegs. So we should list this as bootleg.
Even though it is a bootleg I'm very glad to have it as the 1970 RCA original linked below is well out of my price range at $1200 Australian. So it's a great album at a great price if you can live with the fact it's not entirely all above board.
Almost certainly 'unofficial'. I have a CD from the 90s with the same track listing (including the 'bonus track'), but with Rhythm Salad correctly titled. KW have never licensed this or their first three LPs under their own name for reissue.
I'll do a set of scans for this one soon so we have full size of images on the page. Thanks to 78rpm-maniac for doing the entry and providing photos of the album. Although this album says it has been licensed the other site lists this as "unofficial" does anyone no why. I see bootlegs have been getting about since 1994 on the "Germanofon" krautrock bootleg label so is this just the most recent edition in a long line of bootlegs? It is very well pressed and sounds fantastic but is it a legitimate release or not I don't know. Can anybody shed some light on that score?
Also, it should be noted that track B2 is actually titled Rhythm Salad on the original album (linked below) but is named Rhythm Island on both the label and cover of this release.
