Rebranding of the 1975 "Rock 'N' Roll" album, the label even titles the album "Rock 'N' Roll" but the track list is wrong on the cover but the same as 1975 version on the album.

| | R.C., did as you suggested, "If you type hit wave volume three it would come up in your search engine" All I got was that comment by you. Did you upload the Hit Wave Vol.3 cover and labels? If so I'll have another try later. |

| | Yellow box logo(Axis)? I think that's the logo design that carried through to the CD format, and was revamped again later, round early 1990s. |
|
|
|
Record Collector 9th Jan 2015
| | Actually it's the yellow box mid eighties version as I'm looking at it right now |

| | R.C., Apollo 100 LP, yep! That's the one! And Axis logo on the top corner of John Lennon LP, the old original version of the logo, no doubt, with the prefix of the cat.# being AXIS-???? |

Record Collector 9th Jan 2015
| | Yes Neil same cover with the axis logo on top right corner |

Neil Forbes 9th Jan 2015
| | The Axis LP would've looked like either of those shown in the linked releases(shown below) or at least the cover would, anyway. |

| | R.C.'s comment: "I think endeavour was around over twelve months and finally sank". I couldn't say for certain, when the label was established. Apart from the Ray Charles compilation which carried the London label and Endeavour catalogue number, I have one other which carries the actual Endeavour label, it's a compilation of Apollo 100, which includes the hit, "Joy". I'll upload it in coming weeks so, "watch this space!" |

| | I used to think those "buy Vol.1 - get Vol.2 free" arrangements were a bit of a con, quite frankly(I've got a couple of them, they were given to me, I didn't buy them). If they were intended as 2-record sets, why didn't they package them in gatefold sleeves? |

| | I've bought quite a few J. & B. compilations(not this one, though. Never was much of a fan of John Lennon) in my time, as well as a few Dino albums on cassette or the odd LP. I have a Ray Charles compilation on the Endeavour/London label(record carries London label but Endeavour catalogue number and Endeavour logo on front cover). As I said earlier in this thread, these labels are good value in that you get the AUTHENTIC versions! No re-recordings, no sound-alikes, but the REAL THING(no, not that Russell Morris song, silly!), The GENUINE ARTICLE! And for someone like me who has done community radio(and been caught out with a couple of non-authentic versions), I absolutely INSIST on authenticity! |

Neil Forbes 9th Jan 2015
| | My post vanished as soon as I finished it! I was saying how J. & B., Dino and Endeavour were good value as budget labels because they always used AUTHENTIC versions of songs they include in their compilations. Sadly the same can't be said of K-Tel in its latter issues. By far the worst for using non-authentic content is NZ's Music World(Hughes Leisure Corp.). You're lucky if you find two in 30 that are authentic in their compilations! I avoid that label like the plague! For budget compilations, it's J. & B., Dino and Endeavour for me any day of the week! |

| | I think it should be linked. Anyone else think so?
It's not an attractive thing, is it... |
|

|
Lee Wrecker 20th Jan 2014
| | Should this shameless TV special be linked to the original John Lennon "Rock 'N' Roll" album or not?? The label indicates it is that album and the track list and recordings are the same. A bit of a conundrum really - it is sooo tacky. |
