after maybe half a dozen more singles for various labels (at least one, "all i want is my baby"/"each and every day of the year", decca° f12032 12/64) had been released in the uk prior to his recording this, his first lp), his second album, "color him in" produced by carl boettcher, was released on verve records in the states in 1967 as by "jameson". "working!", his third album, was released in 1968 on grt records under his (fairly) full name.

 date should be 1971.

this is a 1971 re-release on ed kassner's president group's joy label of an lp first released on the surrey label (mid-price subsidiary of mira records) in 1965. it was released in the u.s. as "songs of protest and anti-protest" as by "chris lucey" for rather convoluted reasons: the producers recorded an album with chris ducey, before discovering he was contracted to abc records. they found singer-songwriter bobby jameson and recorded an album with him to replace it, songs written by him to match the existing & printed ten titles and changing his name to "chris lucey" for the artist, as only requiring slight surgery on the artwork from the earlier-intended artist's lp cover. he received no royalties from the sales.
