Mine has a 5 - 74 date... and given the 1975 release date, it would seem that they pressed these early to prepare for demand, and that mine therefore, is an early, though not first press.
This was issued with 1 mono record (Atlantic recordings), and 1 stereo record (Bell recordings), so that is as it should be, and I have seen another copy out and about which is identical to mine with regards to both labels and cover (inside and out).
In order to make sense of the images here then, I can say the following:
The front and back cover scans submitted for the initial entry under UK, by 45hound are identical to mine (even the small text at the bottom rear cover).
Then there's camshaft's issue scans....
It goes a bit funny here, as, while the print is identical on his label scan to mine, only the colour tone of the blue and orange segments is off... but then, so is my own submitted scan of the Bell record from the actual record I scanned!
This is identical in tone to my Atlantic record, and therefore simply put it down to scanning anomaly. So Camshaft's is the same record as mine. But...
the vinyl mould under the label is different, as both of my records have two raised segments (one, the centre ring around the spindle hole about a third of the distance from centre, as does camshaft's, but then there is another on mine which camshaft's doesn't have... another third out).
And finally, his inner cover scans are completely different from mine... so one of our two is either a later issue, or a contract press (you can imagine this being a very popular title, necessitating such a thing).
So in order to establish which I'll simply offer my matrix numbers for others to compare to:
All four sides of mine copy have the matrix numbers:
K-60106 -
then followed by: A2, B2, C2, and D2 respectively.
