In reply to earlier comments this album is credited in most jazz guides as being by "Quitent Of The Year" with the album title "Jazz At Massey Hall" (I have amend the title).
This album is billed as one of the most important jazz albums recorded and was the only time this five jazz legends ever recorded together.
Regarding the Charlie Parker card on the sleeve it does mention in the notes that Charlie surprised and infuriated some of the audience in an earlier concert when he turned his back on them when playing however Charlie Chan was the alias he used for this recording to get round contractual reasons.
I have added my copy on Vocalion and it is linked below.
I've noticed the cards on the front have the one that should bear Charlie Parker's name with: "Charlie Chan" written on it instead... and with his back to us .... Don't know what that is all about!
Chap at the bootie wanted £5 for this.... I walked about a bit thinking it over, then came back and bought it! :)
Just look at that line up!
Not sure if the group should be given as "Quintet Of the Year", as there isn't technically an artist name, just the name of the album, but elsewhere on the net gives this as artist name, so I went with that.
And the front cover also has the sub-heading: "Jazz At Massey Hall" around the bottom portion of the cover, but this doesn't appear on the labels, rear cover, or the spine.
