Fokeman 19th Aug 2017		This was a pair of American artists who moved to Paris to escape the homophobia of the USA. They lived happily as performers, artists and singers and ran a bar - L'Abbaye - in Paris of the mid 1950s. This LP was issued in the UK on Argo under the name of "The Ballad Of The Boll Weavil". Heath was an African-American so his relationship with another man was doubly complicated by the race issue in 1950s America. Further information on Heath's life.
